Godstone - Dormansland - Bletchingley

1. Putting a brave face on it. 2. Raleigh Rapide - Mike has had it since 17! Look at those friction-free steel rims. 3. Let them eat cake- but somewhere else!

I have the same green raleigh rapide. I can't seem to be able to find a serial number... any ideas?

Duncan.

Frame numbers are usually, but not exclusively on the underside of the bottom bracket shell.

I had one frame with a plastic cable guide under the B/B and the frame number was hidden under that.

Alternatively I have seen frame numbers stamped on the rear dropouts.

Hope this helps, if you see any of it!

Duncan,
the serial number is on the back of the seat tube it will be two letters followed by a series of numbers. to date it accurately use this website http://www.kurtkaminer.com/TH_raleigh_serials.html#19731982
I also have one of these bikes it is made in May 1974 in the Nottingham factory.
